When people fail the DOT exam at Cope Family Medicine, it’s usually because of high blood pressure and/or high levels of sugar in their urine. These conditions can include heart disease, epilepsy, diabetes controlled with insulin, missing limbs, poor vision, mental disorders or the use of certain drugs. The DOT physical exam does not usually include a drug test, however it will be required if your employer requests one.
